Financial Analyst
COMPANY: This Nashville, TN-based company is the U.S. subsidiary of
the world's largest tire and rubber company. This company
and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide
range of name brand tires to address the needs of a broad
range of customers, including consumers, automotive and
commercial vehicle original equipment manufacturers, and
those in the agricultural, forestry and mining industries.
The companies are also engaged in retreading operations
throughout the Western Hemisphere and produce air
springs, roofing materials, and industrial fibers and textiles.
They also operate the world's largest chain of automotive
tire and service centers.
LOCATION: Trenton, SC
DESCRIPTION: Key job responsibilities include: 1) Budget preparation,
presentation, and analysis 2) Business planning and
forecasting 3) Strategic financial analysis and modeling 4)
Project work
MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTING, PREPERATION AND
ANALYSIS
1. Prepare all necessary analysis for journal entries using
GAAP accounting practices
2. Participate in the month end close by processing
intercompany billings, posting the monthly WIP floor
check, prepare account reconciliations as necessary,
analysis of accounts prior to close & any other month
end closing requirements
3. Prepare and analysis the monthly, quarterly, year end
schedules as required
4. Participate in the annual WIP, Raw material inventory
5. Continuously improve work procedures and processes,
including documentation and efficiencies
6. Review of daily spending requests for adequate budget
funding
DATA ANALYSIS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS
1. Perform ad hoc analysis as requested and communicate
results effectively
2. Create models for improving plant results &
understanding of costs
3. Participate in the monthly business plan meetings as
assigned
4. Work proactively to minimize surprises
BUDGET SUPPORT & ANALYSIS
1. Provide the budget tools necessary for the annual
budget and MTP
2. Support the plant groups in the budgeting process
3. Provide analysis of budget results to local and corporate
management
4. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget detail
required for budget presentation meetings
QUALIFICATIONS: : 3-5 years business experience, preferably in finance
or other quantitative, data-driven decision function or
environment
: Superior MS Excel and Access skills
EDUCATION: 4 Year Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
