Fund Accountant
COMPANY: This company takes a dynamic approach to alternative
investments, creating investment vehicles that increasingly
capitalize on evolving opportunities in fast-changing
markets. They offer clients strategies designed to provide
returns with low correlations to the broad equity and bond
markets, including private equity, real estate equity and
debt, hedge funds of funds, single-strategy hedge funds,
long-only absolute return strategies, commodities and
structured products. The alternative investment capabilities
are fully integrated into the company, allowing investment
teams to capitalize on the firm's considerable resources in
areas such as risk management, product development, client
service and operational support.
They are looking for an Accountant that will report directly
into the Global Fund & Accounting Services ("GFAS") team
that supports investment operations for the company's
Alternative Advisors hedge fund of funds, hybrid funds, and
co-investment funds.
This GFAS team supports approximately $21 billion in assets
for a broadly diversified, global client base. The unified
operating platform combines expertise, resources and
capabilities across asset classes, in addition to leveraging
resources within their broad infrastructure and global
investment teams.
LOCATION: Seattle, Washington
DESCRIPTION: 1. Accounting oversight (GAAP) for several of the firm's
fund products, including monthly income allocation
and fee review procedures, with a focus on fund of
hedge funds.
2. Assist with preparation and review of annual financial
statements and supporting documentation.
3. Cash reconciliation procedures for fund investment
purposes.
4. Liaising with funds' administrators.
5. Communicating performance results to investors and
resolving investors' questions.
6. Custom reporting and projects for investor specific
needs.
7. Partnering and communicating with various internal
business units regarding fund products and
performance data.
8. Group project opportunities related to implementation
of new product accounting and operational
procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: : Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
: Proper and effective accounting skills.
: Sound analytical and problem solving skills.
: Solid time management skills.
: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
: Fluent in Microsoft Office products, emphasis on Excel.
EDUCATION: : Bachelors' degree in Accounting or commensurate
experience. CPA a Plus
: 0-4 years of relevant accounting work experience.
Investment or fund accounting experience is desirable,
as is public accounting (auditing) experience.
