LOCATION: Baytown, TX
This position performs operations and maintenance on electrical power distribution,
transmission and protective equipment throughout the Baytown site. Activities are performed in a safe, compliant, timely, high quality and cost effective manner according to plan and schedule.
More specifically, this position will be responsible for:
Ensure that safe working conditions are maintained, procedures followed, PPE utilized according to procedure, and ensure adherence to Electrical Work Practices (EWPs) and general site HSE Safety procedures.
Responsible for performance of equipment maintenance jobs, inspections, and
Responsible to perform (and sometimes lead) Electrical Power Supply (EPS) equipment maintenance and repair jobs, including assurance of energy isolation: writing switching orders, performing switching and application of grounds. Makes QA checks on repairs made on electrical equipment by nested and non-nested contractors.
Support EPS engineering for troubleshooting and repairs of electrical related equipment issues. Able to read, interpret and troubleshoot electrical equipment issues using vendor documentation, manuals, one-line, and three-line diagrams, schematics and ladder-logic diagrams.
Responsible for executing scheduled jobs as assigned by Electrical supervisor and being available for callout duty as assigned to ensure EPS department can respond to unplanned jobs and schedule-breakers as needed. Able to make callouts, work extended hours, including some weekends and holidays and work outdoors in the cold and heat of Southeast Texas winters/summers.
Interfaces with EPS (Electrical) engineering as well as Business Units Asset and
Maintenance departments, Project Engineering, Construction and Operations personnel to provide maintenance input and support for project scope development and assist with project activities and turnaround jobs as assigned.
Monitors the health monitoring of Electrical Assets, through observations and PM''s.
Enters SAP notifications for work ID.
Maintains and develops qualifications as an Electrical technician so that EPS department is able to execute jobs efficiently and with high quality.
Helps secure the Company's license to operate through safe day to day operations of EPS high and low-voltage assets, 138kv, 35kv,13.8kv, 277/480, 120/240/208, 130volt DC, along with control and signal voltages.
Helps Baytown Site deliver Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Market Corrected OEE goals by ensuring extremely high availability of electric power and minimizing/eliminating unplanned downtime.
Strong relationships with TSM Process Control Technology Maintenance, BU Asset
organizations and Process Control Technology central reliability.
Interfacing with nested and non-nested contractors to oversee safe and efficient
completion of required EPS asset maintenance
: : Four (4+) years of Power Distribution/Transmission (Electrical) maintenance experience in an Industrial Operation
: Circuit Relay testing and calibration.
: High Voltage experience up to 13.8 KV
: Associate of Science degree in a discipline relative to the electrical field OR College Certificate OR Honorably discharged veteran with equivalent military technical or business expertise OR AVO Institute certification plus internal Power Distribution training and certification
: Completed Electrical apprenticeship program
