This Company specializes in the design and manufacture of innovative, high quality equipment for customers around the world. In addition to an impressive line of standard units, the company offers custom units that are engineered to meet individual needs or applications.
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for managing projects to thorough completion keeping to a timeline that is jointly developed within the "company" Industries organization. This includes designing/specifying parts, components and/or complete mechanical assemblies, and systems as they relate to "company" product line. The employee must be qualified in the design and drafting requirements used by "company, as well as exhibit proficiency in the creation of mechanical designs, assemblies & fabrication drawings. In addition, the employee must be able to guide the day to day tasks of others in the Engineering Department to complete projects.
Essential Job Functions:
This position is responsible for all of the following:
Participating in engineering and general design review as required
Performing liaison function between Engineering and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems or improvements
Reading and interpreting various codes and specifications as required for product design
Creating large-scale assembly and fabrication drawings using computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
Creating/Specifying component and system drawings
Interacting with production personnel to define and resolve manufacturing/design issues
Analyzing engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. Finite Element Analysis will be required to determine design integrity
Conferring with engineering personnel and preparing design modifications as required
Interacting with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company
Preparing interim and completion project reports
Evaluating design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
Remaining current on new developments in engineering and related fields
Keeping Engineering Manager advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments
Performing special projects as assigned
Adherence to all safety policies and procedures
Other Functions:
Regular contact with all levels of personnel throughout the organization
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years Project Engineer experience (preferably in manufacturing environment)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Proficiency in SolidWorks 20016 or newer
Proven proficiency with MS Office suite (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Strong mechanical aptitude (including engineering calculations) and some material specification abilities
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory
Creativity, initiative, detail-oriented, results-focused
Valid Drivers' License
Communication Skills Required:
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee must have excellent written and oral communication skills. This includes being able to read and write instructions, correspondence, letters and memos, and to converse with staff, co-workers, and vendors in a professional manner.
The ability to professionally and comfortably interact with all levels of personnel (including shop, management, supervisory, etc.) is vital. The employee will work closely with personnel in the Engineering Department to ensure accuracy of work and problem resolution related to component and product designs
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Engineering preferred
